Recipe for Gajar Methi Ki Tarkari

What is unique about this recipe?

This is quite easy to make home breakfast recipe, goes well with Rotis and rice. Serve it hot with a drizzle of lemon juice and Fresh- Coriander leaves.  The sweet aromatic flavor of the juicy carrots is what makes this curry irresistible to taste!!


Carrot (Gajar)– 500 grams (peeled and in small pieces)

Fresh Methi Leaves or Fenugreek Leaves ( ½ cup)

Peas – ½ cup

Tomato– 1 finely chopped

Onion – 2 medium finely chopped

Ginger-Garlic Paste – 2 tablespoons

Red Chili Powder– 1-2 teaspoon

Turmeric Powder – ¼ teaspoon

Salt – to taste

Cooking Oil– 4-5 tablespoon

Shahi Jeera– ½ teaspoon

Cloves– 1-2

Lemon Juice -1 tablespoon

Heat oil in a thick bottom pan, flavor with shahi jeera and cloves

Add the chopped onions and sauté  the onions till golden brown

Add the turmeric, ginger-garlic pastered chili powder, and salt and mix well

Now add the fenugreek leaves and leave the curry to simmer on low flame for 10-15 minutes

Cover the pan with a lid and leave the carrots to cook over (steam) for 5 minutes on medium-low flame

Once done switch off the flame and serve the Gajar-Methi curry with hot Rotis or Phulkas

Drizzle Lemon Juice and Corinder Leaves.
