Gosht Ka Chudwa

What is unique about Gosht Ka Chudwa ?

The word Chudwa used in Hindi literally translates to savoury snack made out of a mixture of puffed rice , groundnuts and dried nuts garnished with salt and chilli powder

The concept behind making Gosht ka Chudwa has evolved from preserving the excess meat that is left over during festivities

Ingredients for Gosht Ka Chudwa

Lamb meat – 1/2 kg diced
Turmeric – 1/4 teaspoon
Oil – 2-3 tablespoons
Salt – to taste
Ginger garlic paste – 2 teaspoon
Chilli Powder – 2 tablespoons
Cumin Powder – for garnishing
Amchur powder ( Dried mango powder)- for garnishing

Method to cook Gosht Ka Chudwa

Take the washed meat pieces add, turmeric, salt, ginger garlic paste and chilli paste along with 2 cups of water approximately

Mix well and pressure cook the meat

Cook until the meat turns tender and the excess water left and the gravy has turned completely dry

Now cool the meat and shred it into pieces by hand or fork

Heat the oil in a pan and fry the shredded pieces til they turn a crispy brown

Take the fried pieces out on a dry paper towel to ensure the oil is all soaked up 

Garnished on top with cumin powder, amchur powder and salt

We can also garnish it with freshly chopped corinder leaves, and lemon juice

If you prefer and relish spicy food, than we can add finely chopped green chillies or garnish it with red chillie powder
