A perfect lamb chop recipe to savour – Ginger lamb chops are a variation to the traditional lamb chop recipe carrying a prominent flavour of ginger .
Prepared by marinating meat chops with a marinade of ginger, pepper and papaya and cooked and grilled to perfection, they are served drizzled with juice of fresh lemon
So for those of you who love the flavour of ginger in your dishes , the Ginger Lamb Chops could be an ideal Indian starter recipe that is sure to leave your taste buds titillated !!

Ingredients for Ginger Lamb Chops 


Lamb meat – 500 gms ( 6 pieces)
Onions – 1 large, finely sliced
Ginger paste – 1 1/2 tablespoons
Garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Cardamom – 1-2 pods
Yogurt – 1/2 a cup
Pepper powder – 1/2 a teaspoon
Cornflower – 1/2 a teaspoon
Tomato – 2 medium , finely chopped
Papaya – 1/2 a cup , mashed
Coriander – 8-10 twigs, finely chopped
Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon

Method to cook Ginger Lamb Chops

Trim the ribs abs keep aside
In a separate bowl add the yogurt , chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, ginger paste , garlic paste , pepper powder , salt and the papaya paste 


The raw papaya in this recipe acts as a natural meat tenderiser . Papaya contains the enzyme papain which helps break down the collagen in the meat ,thereby releasing the juicy flavours of the encapsulated fat contained in the meat 


Next , proceed by mixing all the above ingredients well to prepare a marinade 


Dip the chops in this marinade and set them aside for at least one hour


In order to cook the chops , take a pan and drizzle in the oil
As the oil starts to heat add the marinated chops along with the gravy
Add the cardamom and cook the gravy on low heat 


In order to thicken the gravy , pour in the cornflour slurry prepared by mixing 1/2 a teaspoon of cornflour in half a cup of water and mixing them well 


To further enhance the taste of the lamb chops you could grill them lightly by leaving them in a pre-heated oven at 240 degree for 10-15 minutes 


Once done serve the mouth watering lamb chops drizzled with fresh lemon juice and garnished over with finely chopped coriander and onion rings !
