Recipe for Kali Mirchi ke Mutton Chops
What is unique about this recipe?
A tangy lamb chops gravy spiced with crushed black peppercorn leveled with potato. The taste of this recipe is dominated by a unique blend of vinegar and black pepper.
Lamb chops – 500 gms
Onions – 2-3 finely chopped
Potato – 2 medium peeled and sliced into rings of medium thickness
Oil -5 tablespoons
Ginger-Garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
Crushed peppercorns/ Black pepper powder – 1 tablespoon
Vinegar – 1 tablespoon
Tomato – 2 small, diced into small pieces
Coriander- 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Method
Peel and cut the potatoes into medium-sized chops and fry them in oil. Keep aside
In a pressure cooker/medium-sized pan heat 2 tablespoons of oil and fry the onions till translucent
Once the onions get fried, add the ginger- garlic paste, pepper powder, salt, chopped tomatoes, lamb chops and mix well
Mix well and add the vinegar
Pressure cook the chops for 4-5 whistles or alternatively cook the chops on a medium flame for 20-25 minutes till the meat in the chops is tender
Once the meat is cooked, add the fried potatoes and let the gravy simmer for 10 minutes on low flame till the oil separates
Switch off the flame and garnish the gravy with fresh coriander.
