What is unique about this recipe?
Marinated lamb-cut or diced mutton is cooked along with a gravy of green chilies, cashews nut making this into a lovely greenish creamy mutton delicacy.
This is a home kitchen improvement, wherein we can add more nuts or seeds like water Mellon seeds paste along with almond or pistachios.
Ingredients for Hari Mirchi Ka Mutton
Lamb meat with bone – 250 gms
Onions – 3 medium, finely chopped
Oil – 4 tablespoons
Turmeric- 1/2 teaspoon
Ginger garlic paste- 2 teaspoons
Green chilies – 8-10, blended to a paste they are in a blender
Garam masala powder – 1/2 a teaspoon
Yogurt – 2 tablespoons, whipped with a whip or a spoon
Coriander- 8-10 twigs, finely chopped
Cashews – 10-12 soaked in warm water and blended to a fine paste
Method to cook Hari Mirchi Ka Mutton
In a pressure cooker, heat some oil and sauté the onions till they turn translucent and slightly golden
Add the turmeric, salt, ginger-garlic paste, and garam masala powder and sauté for 2-3 minutes on low flame
Now add the green chili paste and keep stirring for another 3-4 minutes
Add the meat pieces and give them a good stir. Allow the meat pieces to cook till they start to change color
At this point stir in the yogurt and leave the gravy to cook on low flame for 5-6 whistles in order to cook the meat pieces
Once the cooker cools down, open the cooker lid and add the final ingredient which is then blended cashew paste
Stir it in well and garnish the gravy with coriander
Leave the gravy to simmer on low flame for about 5 minutes till the oil starts to separate.
When you see the oil, then dish out this mouth-watering gravy, ready to be served with flavored rice or Rotis
