Recipe for Tatti Ka Gosht
What is unique about Tatti Ka Gosht ?
Traditionally cooked over tatti or a using a rectangular cast iron grill with skewers heated over live coal, it’s the juicy magical caramelised flavour imparted to the meat that makes this starter meat recipe so special !!
Ingredients for Tatti Ka Gosht
Lamb meat – 1kg , diced into medium sized pieces
Garam Masala Powder – 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Ghee (clarified butter ) –
Green Chillies – 10-15 , roughly chopped
Coriander leaves – 1/2 bunch, chopped
Mint leaves – 1/2 a bunch , chopped
Onion – 1 medium , sliced into concentric rings
Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons
Method to make Tatti Ka Gosht
Flatten the diced boneless meat pieces by beating them using a roller pin
Add the chopped green chillies , coriander and mint leaves to a mixer jar and blend them to get a fine paste by adding a pinch of salt
Marinate the meat pieces with the above blended paste along with garam masala powder and salt and leave it to rest for two to three hours
Skew the mutton pieces onto skewers and grill them over live hot charcoal
Allow the marinated meat to cook by brushing them over with clarified butter and turning them till they turn crisp and brown
When all sides of the meat get well cooked, take them off the skewers and serve them hot alongside with onion rings and lemon wedges
